Aruzhan Meirkhanova

Aruzhan Meirkhanova is a Senior Researcher at the National Analytical Center in Astana, Kazakhstan, where she focuses on macroeconomic and regional development analysis. Her research interests include the political economy of Central Asia, regional cooperation, international development, and the challenges of the energy transition. She holds an A.M. in Regional Studies from Harvard University and a B.A. in Political Science from Nazarbayev University. Previously, she worked as a policy and sector reform analyst for Central Asia and Mongolia at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and as a fellow at the Davis Center at Harvard University, where she focused on energy governance in Central Asia. Aruzhan has published with outlets such as The Diplomat, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and the Atlantic Council.
