Dawud Al Ansari
President, Majan Council
Dr. Dawud Al Ansari is a leading expert in geopolitics, energy, and development, specialising in global issues and GCC-related questions. As President of the Muscat-based Majan Council, he leads research programmes on foresight, economics, and strategic affairs, advising leaders in Oman, the GCC, and Europe on energy transitions, economic diversification, and public policy, including key policy initiatives such as the Oman Labour Market Intelligence Analysis. Previously, Dr Al Ansari worked at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP), where he led research, international dialogues, and policy initiatives on the geopolitics of energy, EU-GCC energy trade, and regional stability. He has collaborated with leading global bodies, such as the IEA and IRENA, as well as institutions like the European Commission, alongside an honorary affiliation with the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin). Dr Al Ansari is furthermore a President of the Arab-German Academy of Sciences and Humanities (AGYA) and an adjunct professor teaching at leading institutions, including MBA and PhD programmes at Berlin Institute of Technology. He holds a PhD in Applied Economics from Humboldt University of Berlin, following studies at Berlin Institute of Technology and Johns Hopkins University.
