Climate Finance Senior Associate, Global Green Growth Institute

Hala Al-Hamawi is a climate finance expert and civil engineer with over eight years of experience in sustainable development, climate response, and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). She currently serves as a Senior Climate Finance Associate at the Global Green Growth Institute and is in her final year of a PhD at Nottingham Trent University, where her research focuses on the politics of climate finance. Hala is also a negotiator on climate finance at the UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COP). She has worked in both developing and fragile states, including Jordan and Iraq, and has held roles with international organisations such as UNICEF and the FAO. Based in Nottingham, she brings a strong interdisciplinary perspective to advancing green growth and climate solutions.
