Maha Yassin
Climate Change and Environmental Policy Researcher
Maha Yassin is an independent climate change and environmental policy researcher and a Research Fellow at the Institute of Regional and International Studies, specialising in environmental policy, climate security, and activism in Iraq. Previously, she worked as a Research Fellow and Outreach Officer at the Clingendael Institute for International Relations in the Netherlands, managing the Basra Forum for Climate, Environment, and Security. Maha holds an MA in Communication Studies and a BSc in Geology. With extensive experience in the humanitarian sector, she specializes in civil society engagement and addressing environmental threats, particularly in the southern region of Iraq.
