President, Women in Climate and Energy

Nune Sakanyan is an economist with over 18 years of experience in project management, energy policy, climate action, and gender equality. She is the Founder and President of Women in Climate and Energy (WICE) NGO in Armenia, where she leads initiatives advancing green transition, energy efficiency, and inclusive climate governance. Ms. Sakanyan has developed and managed projects supported by UNDP, EU, GIZ, USAID, and other international partners, contributing to Armenia’s national energy and climate strategies and actions. She has represented Armenia at COP26, COP27, and COP28 and serves on the board of a civil society coalition for transparent energy development. Her work bridges policy, implementation, and advocacy for sustainable and equitable solutions.
