Usman Manzoor

Program Lead, Global Green Growth Institute

Usman Manzoor is a seasoned development professional with extensive experience in climate change adaptation and mitigation, currently serving as the Program Lead at the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), Country Office Pakistan, within the Green Growth Planning and Implementation Division. With a strong background in managing environment and climate change portfolios, Usman previously worked at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), where he led the implementation of key projects in collaboration with government counterparts, the private sector, NGOs, and academic institutions. Notably, he spearheaded UNDP’s flagship Climate Promise initiative in Pakistan, establishing strategic partnerships with the corporate sector and advancing the process toward relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the national level. Usman’s work has supported the implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) by contributing to policy development, institutional strengthening, and on-the-ground execution. He has managed a diverse vertical fund portfolio, including the Global Environment Facility (GEF), Multilateral Fund for the Implementation of the Montreal Protocol, Adaptation Fund, and several bilateral funding sources.
